Connection, control, presets, tracking — the questions captains actually ask, answered.
Do you have documentation for connecting our branded screen to the camera?

We do not have specific documentation per brand. The camera ships with several universal adaptors and connects to any screen with F-TYPE, BNC, RCA or HDMI (Yacht Cam Bright).

Can you briefly explain the presets?

Each PTZ stores up to 256 presets — saved pan, tilt and zoom positions you can recall instantly from the joystick or keyboard controller.

How do you connect the camera and the joystick together?

The keyboard controller links to the camera over RS-485 or Ethernet using the PELCO-D / PELCO-P protocol.

Is Ethernet connection with an IP address?

Yes. Over Ethernet the camera is addressed by IP and streams via HTTP, RTSP, TCP, UDP and ONVIF.

Is there live video stream while away from Yacht Cam?

Yes. The network output supports dual streams and up to 10 simultaneous live viewers, so you can watch remotely.

Is this camera compatible with my devices on board?

Yes. Yacht Cam plays well with Raymarine, Garmin and Furuno helms, and connects to any screen with F-TYPE, BNC, RCA or HDMI.

What is focus adjustment?

The daylight camera offers both auto and manual focus with automatic iris control.

What is MOB and Docking mode?

MOB (man-overboard) mode tunes the image to show more detail of a person in the water; Docking mode sharpens close-range detail to find docking obstacles easily.

What is the camera efficiency in thick fog, capturing logs, buoys, etc.?

Thermal imaging sees through darkness and haze — detection reaches 1,170 m for a person in the water and 3,500 m for a small vessel, revealing logs, buoys and low-lying hazards.

What is the color code to connect keyboard controller to the camera?

The wiring color code is supplied in the keyboard-controller manual that ships with the unit and is available on the Manuals page.

What is the Ethernet/POE connector for? Is that an option to power the controller?

The keyboard controller supports POE, so a single Ethernet cable can both carry data and power it, or you can supply DC 10.8–28V.

What is the protocol over the Ethernet connection? Do you have documentation?

The camera uses standard HTTP, RTSP, TCP, UDP and ONVIF over Ethernet; integration documentation is available on request.

What is the tracking feature?

Optional radar tracking reads NMEA0183 radar strings, computes the target from the current vessel position, and actively locks the camera onto moving objects.

What is the voltage for the joystick and for the camera?

The camera runs on DC 10.8–32V and the keyboard controller on POE or DC 10.8–28V.
